Why do people troll and feel the need to be mean?

Ok so In real life and online you always come across people who will be mean or troll others etc. I never understood the reason why? I mean do people actually get satisfaction from it or do people feel worse when others retaliate??

So, I get accused of ‘trolling’ all the time. Quite frankly it’s laughable. If someone asks for opinions, or participates in a debate forum you can expect that people will #1 give you their opinion and #2 disagree with you. The word ‘judgmental’ gets thrown around here too. Literally every single decision we make is a judgement, just because I choose to drink orange juice over apple juice doesn’t mean I judge the people drinking apple juice. It just means the judgement call I made for myself is different. People are so damn sensitive and don’t know how to communicate when they disagree. They take it as a personal attack. It’s ridiculous.

I say all of the above but honestly I don’t know. I can’t imagine doing what some of the trolls do on this app. It’s pretty gross behavior. 
I don’t think I’ve ever met someone trolling irl, only seen it done online.

I not saying I agree with trolling but some people are delicate little fairies who ask for an opinion and then can’t take it when they get a response they don’t like. 
Not everyone has the same views and opinions but then that person is labelled as a ‘troll’ just because they don’t agree. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sometimes it can also occur because of provocation by obvious and maybe purposeful stupidity or even from being verbally attacked by someone who puts you down for having a different opinion to them or making you feel stupid when their side is actually the one that doesn't make sense. I feel it's a way in which some people react when provoked and sometimes it's ok. Trolling isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it's out of self-protection. Were adults, we dont fight with a fists or weapons. We battle with intellect and that can be regarded by some as trolling. I'm ok with this as long as you're able to back it up. Dont argue for the sake of arguing 😊

I honestly do believe that people being rude and trolling is a reflection of their own insecurities. I don't believe that people who are satisfied and entertained with their lives go around and intentionally belittle or put people down. Im always trying to spread positivity because that's what I'd like to receive from others ❤️
