Red and itchy

I typically am pretty well shaved before having sex. Last night I wasn't prepared and had little stumble on everything down under. Tonight I've noticed that I have little red irritated bumps ( barely even a bump) all over. It's not on my actual vagina area but more of where a landing strip would be. Anyway do you think this is from the friction? Or has anything happen to anyone similar?
