If you’ve ever been induced before, how long did it take from start to finish?

The doctor told me my induction would take 24-48 hours and I’m terrified of being in pain that long. Is that normal??

With me, they started the induction at like 8pm November 24th 2016. Put this thing inside me and said if my water didn't break on its own in 12 hrs they'd have to do it themselves. By the 11th hr my water broke. They then started me on pitocin.. and I had her at 1:43pm that day. So roughly about 18-19hrs.

I was induced at 730 am on the 20th of February and did not have him until 1:00 pm on February 21st! I was also only 17 years old. Talk about traumatized!

I came in to be induced around 6-7am, they broke my water around 5-6pm, got my epidural around 9pm, and started pushing around 11pm- after an hour and a half of that my daughter finally came at 12:32am. So, the whole thing was about 17 hours or so.

I was brought in to be induced on a Wednesday, around 9am. And didn’t give birth until 4:04 the next morning.
I got an epidural because whatever they gave me to start contractions, never gave up and I was in so much pain. And that was about 2-3 hours after I got there.
But I only did 20 minutes of pushing to get her out in the very end!

With my first they started the pitocin and broke my water at 8 am. I was 3 cm dilated at the time. I was 8 cm around 11 am and then 10 cm around 2 pm. I only pushed less than 10 minutes and my son was out in 3 pushes at 2:20 pm!

Inductions usually take more than 24 hours. Make sure the induction is necessary!
