New glasses help?

I got my glasses today (I've never worn them before) and although everything is sharp, I feel like if I glance at something it gets kind of blurry. I also feel like my eyes are straining which is resulting in a headache. I know it can take a while to get used to it and I've a pretty strong prescription in one eye and practically nothing in the other eye but i feel like I have to keep taking them off because it's uncomfortable at the minute for the stronger prescription eye especially. My right eye is +2.5 and my left is +0.5 so it's a pretty big difference but I wasn't expecting it to be this uncomfortable. I've never noticed anything wrong with my sight and only got it checked because my doctor advised me too because I constantly have headaches.
