Does sex of baby equal gender?

There's this girl on my news feed on Facebook who dresses her baby boy in girl clothes (dresses and hair bows) half the time & then in boy clothes the other half and preaches how just because her baby was born a boy that she wants him to grow up as he chooses. 
In my opinion, she is raising a baby to grow up and be totally confused & it makes me so sad! The baby just turned one. I understand when teenagers or young adults have gender identity issues , but a baby?!!

I desperately wanted a girl this time. I have still not come to terms with the fact that I am never having a girl.

I am shallow enough to admit that a huge part of the reason I wanted a girl is because I want to buy the 'girly' things.

I joke constantly about buying and using 'girly' things anyway. I would not, however, actually do it.

Should my child later decide that he is not a he, I will absolutely support her and find great joy in buying all those 'girly' things.

Life is hard enough without starting my kid off with gender confusion unnecessarily though.

I am not judging this girl. I try to teach my own kids to reject the idea that items and colors have genders. So I can understand somewhat.

I would not be dressing my "baby" is dresses. No matter how pro-trans I am. Until the baby can speak for himself she should not be doing this... I feel like it would cause some confusion of some sort especially before he can start comprehending gender. 
Maybe she truely wanted a girl so she's dealing with it by saying her baby can be a girl??

No way! In this case he isn't the one choosing to be transgender, she is choosing for him. It's his choice, not hers.

My son will be treated accordingly. If as he gets older he expresses that he feels he is a girl, we will go from there. Unless that happens, he will be 100% boy. Treated as a boy, dressed as a boy, playing sports unless he expresses he doesn't like sports then we will find something eh does like.

My boy is a boy and he's staying a boy unless HE decides otherwise then he can be a girl if he wants to be.... But for now he's my little boy 😄
