Alopecia, Mirena IUD 2.5 years

I’ve had the mirena implanted it when i was 17, I am now 20 and last October I found a patch of hair while shopping with a family member. As of February, I’ve lost about 80% of my hair. I’ve currently been on steroids injections, Puva therapy and now on dcpc. The only things that I’ve seen results are with a homemade recipe that I got off an awesome hair stylist. I met two people that were friends of my friends that have the iud mirena specifically and were diagnosed with alopecia. Right now has been 3-4 weeks I got removed and I already noticed the shedding has literally stop and my hair is growing, I do have a long way to go but I already have about 60% of my hair.

Bottom line is, if you are experiencing hair loss pleaseeee Google about your birth control and hair loss associated with it.

I never heard of anyone saying that to me that somehow it can be related and I don’t even see any topics in here about the mirena specifically with this issue.

And now that I brought up to my gyno she’s like “it’s rare but not impossible”.
