Switching doctors during pregnancy?

I have already had my 9 week appointment with my normal obgyn. I have my 12 weeks  next week. Honestly, I’m starting to realize this drive is too far with the included traffic in Dallas. Will it be too late to change doctors after this 12 week appointment? I found another alone that is much closer.

With my first pregnancy I changed my OB about 3 weeks before my son was born. Best decision I ever made too! You’re free to switch doctors anytime you wish. ☺️

Not too late! We moved across the country when I was 20w, which obviously resulted in a change of doctors. Just make sure you call the new place you wanna go to about a month in advance to make sure you can get in when you’re due for another appointment. Your old doctors office will also have to fax the new doctors office your records.

If you’re gonna switch definitely do it now so you have time to keep looking if you don’t like the new doctor. Plus, depending on how the doctor bills for your appointments, it’s best to switch early so you don’t have to pay multiple copays. My current doctor bills for the entire prenatal care in one lump sum so if I switched from her then I’d have to pay a copay for each visit I had with her.

It’s never too late to change doctors. I switched from a doctor to a midwife at 30 weeks with my first child.

I switched doctors at 10 weeks when I switched insurance company's. My original doctor doesn't accept my current insurance.
