Let me spin you a yarn with a hint of trigger warning

Once upon a time a baby was born in a modern hospital but was very sick because he wasn't "baked" long enough in the oven. However, the hospital had all the resources to fix him so he could go home asap. He spent about a month in his own little glass house and stole the hearts of many of the hospital staff, as all babies do. He had lots of visitors and a big sister waiting for him to come home.

His mommy was taking a while to get better herself but was often wheeled in to see her little prince. Meanwhile, dad and the attending nurses looked after him day and night. Dad happened to be the know-it-all type and had a superiority complex. He learned after all that time watching the staff work with his baby how they did certain things. Not fully, of course. These things take months if not years

to master. But he thought he was a very smart man and started touching the ventilator and IV pole, even though he was told not to politely by the RNs. Then was straight up scolded by the RTs and physicians. Still, he was persistent in that he knew that the buttons did. One day, while the nurse left to check on other babies next door he decided to touch the ventilator again. This time he messed up extra bad and his little baby lost his life because of it. He even tried to lie to his wife downstairs but the physician set her staight. The moral of this story is do not touch medical equipment unless you are trained. Ever.
