Help please! Anyone have opks do this?

Question

I normally ovulate CD15. Positive opk CD13. But this month my period was a week late. I started my OPKs CD7. Yesterday CD8 it got pretty dark but not positive so I thought today would be my positive but it’s back to light. 
Has anyone had this happen and have it end up going back darker and ovulating ? Normally I just have a gradually increase then positive CD13. So confused!?
My BF isn’t home till CD13 that’s why I’m so concerned. Help!? 😣
Normally that’s what my opk looks like on CD9 but I’m worried because it got darker yesterday that I’m going to miss it this month?? Thanks so much

I highly recommend you also bbt, it confirms ovulation. Once you confirm ovulation, your period will never be a week late because your luteal period is constant to within a day.

If An Ovulation Predictor Test Kit Says Positive, That Means That I Am For Sure Ovulating, Right?
Ovulation predictor kits determine whether the luteinizing hormone (LH) is detected. The luteinizing hormone (LH) rises right before ovulation occurs. Therefore the kits are supposed to detect whether you’re going to ovulate but cannot ensure that you do ovulate.
Women may have a high level of the LH if they have certain conditions such as polycystic ovaries, premature ovarian failure (POF), or for women over age 40 who are experiencing perimenopause. Also, women with Luteinized Unruptured Follicle Syndrome (LUFS) may have a surge in the LH hormone without ovulating. Any of these conditions could result in a false positive result on an ovulation predictor test.
