do you guys think it's unreasonable?

Lily • Doula and Lactation Consultant

I was just developing my own business, after 3 years of ttc with no luck I put my focus on growing my business and myself. So of course, I am now pregnant! Bad news is, where I live in Canada, you can't qualify for a year mat leave unless you work a registered job (so no self employment). Is it unreasonable for me to get a job knowing I wont be able to stay in it long? As a side note, we have had 3 pregnancy losses as well, so if I did stop my own business to get a standard job, it would break my heart if I lost this preg. So far all the scans and numbers have looked great though. So much conflicting stuff. I do know that we wont have enough financially for me to either not recieve benefits, or have EI. My business I'm developing won't see profit for 6 months, and by then I won't really be able to work! Argh so much to think about. I am trusting in timing. I suppose my main question is, is it wrong to hide my pregnancy when applying for jobs? I'm 6 weeks.
