I need to vent and rant.

Christie

I’m a 14 week postpartum mom just recently back to work in the USAF. I was recently diagnosed with dermatitis in my scalp and was told to use a shampoo and I diligently read every word on that bottle. Limit heat, product and tight hair ties. I’m also losing hair from postpartum.

Tonight after work I pulled my hair out of the ponytail and a clump of hair came with it. I took a shower using my special shampoo, and I’m virtually blind without my glasses....but I felt it. Every single clump that came out and washed down the drain or I managed to put off to throw away. It was a handful. My hair is thick, but cannot last much longer.

My rant:

Why should men be put on shaving waivers but women be unable to get a “ponytail” waiver? I shouldnt have to cut my hair I’ve worked so hard on growing out to the length I like it at. I’m finally happy with my hair (minus the loss) and now I’m crying... no I’m bawling my eyes out over the fact that I’ll have to cut my hair to be in regs. I can’t keep pulling these hair ties out with tons of hair.... I can’t keep crying over the thought of losing my hair.

Thank you for listening.
