What do I do!!! Help ASAP

This one is kinda long so buckle up ...

About a month ago this guy (let’s call him Al) started talking to me and made it very clear he wanted a relationship and I did the same. In the last two weeks, we haven’t talked as much and when we do it’s because I start the conversation. For ex, we didn’t talk for about three days and then Al texted me saying he missed me and we had a very short conversation and I was the last one to respond, but if he missed me why wouldn’t he want to text me more ? And then a few days later after not talking I texted him, he texted back, I texted, and then was left on read. I understand people have lives and are busy but Al would post on Snapchat during the times we weren’t talking and in the beginning we talked every day.

I have a good guy friend (we’ll call him Dan) that I talk to everyday, but it’s not real conversation, mostly consists of us sending funny pictures or videos back and forth. Within the last few days Dan has actually engaged in conversation and is opening up to me which is unlike his personality bc he is very closed off. We go back and forth between who is uglier and more unloved all the time as a “joke” lmao but be recently started to disagree when I would talk down on myself and has been randomly complimenting me which he has never done to me. I know that it doesn’t have to mean anything but if it does, I wouldn’t mind trying something with him.

Should I keep trying and be honest with Al or wait and see if Dan makes an official move? Ask any questions you have below :)
