Contraction type pain after birth??

Tori • Married with 2 year old mini me :) B/G twins due 4/2020

Hi ladies!

Not sure what’s going on with me but I thought I would ask and see if this has happened to anyone else.

I had a c section 1 year ago. I breast fed until my baby was 6 months old. Not sure if this is related to giving birth or breastfeeding but for the last several months (approx every 6 weeks or so) I have like an extreme cramp attack.

It doesn’t revolve around my period dates either. It seems to be completely random.

Now these are not regular cramps. It starts off gradual but I know when it starts there’s nothing to stop the attack. Basically my whole abdomen, my chest, my stomach, my whole trunk area tightens and tightens until it’s hard for me to breathe. The pain is excruciating and scary. Nothing will stop the pain once it starts and wherever I am and whatever I’m doing I have to stop and kneel on the ground because that’s the only position that I can manage to endure the cramping.

I can liken it to contractions during labor with no pausing. The pain only lasts about an hour but during that hour I am absolutely incapacitated. I don’t know what is causing this and I’m not even sure it’s related to giving birth.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

I’ve had about 5 attacks since I stopped breastfeeding so far.

Next time it happens I think I might go to the ER and see what they say.

Thanks!
