LAZY BUMM!??!

okay so my name is Jor'dan and i pretty much suck at sports as far as i know. i have never tried out for a sport other than like dance or something. but recently i had a dream that i was trying out for a sport like basketball and i took that as a sign that going into my junior year (next school year) i should try out for a sport. And i would i mean it seems fun but the thing is...i dont know how to play any sports! i know the rules for some of them but i have never really played. if i try out do u think that they would actually show me how the game goes? and what sports do u think i should play as a beginner?
