Non hormonal birth control recommendations.

Hey guys! I'm 26 years old and don't have kids yet. I was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolisms (blood clots) in both my lungs and 2 DVT clots in my leg. I was on the Nuvaring and they don't know yet if my clots were caused by it or if I have a clotting disorder. Regardless my lung doctor told me I won't ever be able to be on a hormonal birth control again. I'm planning on making an appointment with my OB/GYN soon to talk about my opinions now but wanted to see what y'all think too... My hubby and I absolutely HATE condoms so I need to find another way to prevent pregnancy without hormones. What are some options that have worked for those of you who aren't on hormones? I can NOT get pregnant right now being on my blood thinner meds.
