How do I get him to say "I love you"?

I know he does love me and I know I love him. I know this from actions but we don't actually say it. Hes said it once but it slipped out and I think it scared him. I just want us to take the next step of saying I love you. But I really just can't work up the nerve to say it first  help!

I said it first! I knew he loved me, he's loved me since our freshman year of high school and for some reason, I decided not to give him the time of day until we graduated. He pursued a relationship with me for 4 years relentlessly and once I accepted, I realized what I was missing out on. I know he loves me by the way he looks at me and the way he treats me. I knew he was nervous to say it though so I did! He was so shocked that he didn't even immediately say it back, it took him a minute to process lol. Don't push him but if you are ready to tell him, do it!

Just wait til he's ready to say it, don't try to get him to say it. My husband had said it first to me and rather quickly into the relationship. I told him I wouldn't say it til I was 100% sure I felt it. So he would say it and I wouldn't say it back for a little bit.

If youre saying it and hes not saying it back somethings not right. Stop saying it and wait for him to say it. Depending on the guy sometimes saying it when they aren't ready is a turn off for them
