We’re on a break...again

My bf and I took a break in August of last year. We had never believed in breaks, as we had always thought you’re either in or out. But we decided at the time that it was the best thing. It was because he told me all of a sudden that he wasn’t feeling it as much after 3 1/2 years. So we decided we’d go on a break for at most 2 weeks so he can think about it and just focus on himself. We literally didn’t even last 3 days on the break. 3 days later we got back into it...sex and all and continued on.

Last night, we got into a huge fight that stemmed from something so dumb. It was both our faults, but my bf initially was the one who said he’s done, that he doesn’t feel the love anymore now. That hurt me so much but I know he’s one to make rash decisions. After a long night yesterday we decided to take a break. This time 6 days at the most. He told me we need time apart...he needs a break from me for a little bit and I need to work on all the things happening in my life atm. Just like the first break, we won’t text or call each other and will not see each other. Today I actually did stop by his house to pick up something I left, and he decided that he’ll FaceTime me every night. I’ll take that. I’m working this whole weekend so I’m not worried about not keeping myself busy those 2 days. But the other 2 1/2 I’m doing absolutely nothing. I asked him that maybe we can make the break shorter, like just over the weekend. But he said no, that he needs it to go to Wednesday and if that changes he’ll let me know.

I KNOW I’m going to receive comments bashing breaks, but honestly I’d rather us work on ourselves for 6 days than make a bad decision of actually breaking up. How have you girls dealt with a break? How did it end and what did you do to make yourself busy??
