Night calf & feet cramp remedies?!?!?

It's been 5 years since my last full term pregnancy and I cannot remember what to do for the night time extreme killer calf and foot cramps, anyone have suggestions!?

With my first 2 babies I would wake up screaming, my husband would sit up in his sleep to massage my calves. I would be sore for days from the worst ones. 
3rd baby my dr told me to try magnesium. Relief within 48 hours and it's never happened since. Like magic.

I use a stretch band in bed before I go to sleep. And I try and stretch as much as I can during the day. Took mine completely away! Also stay hydrated, lots and lots of fluids with low to no sugar.

My massage therapist told me to put heat 9
On my calves before bed, I typically do it for 5-10 minutes while in bed. It helps to draw extra blood causing circulation to the calve area. (I think that’s how he described it?) So far it’s helped every night, no cramps since I’ve been doing it.

They are worse when you are dehydrated. My doc recommended lots of electrolytes as well- the potassium and magnesium help combat the cramping!

You can try ankle exercises, helped mine. Look up ankle range of motion. To stop them when they strike I (somehow) jump out of bed and stand up.

I don’t have any remedies for stopping them. However, as soon as I get one I usually hop right out of bed and walk and it goes away instantly. I haven’t gotten any bad ones yet but I remember I did with my second daughter. I have always heard eating more bananas and staying hydrated helps. I keep a large water bottle next to me every night.
