My son was born on July 1st!

Da
Day 6: It has been nothing I was prepared for, the amount of love which suddenly chokes you when you look at your little bundle, the fear of waking up and stopping this miraculous dream, the sweet smell of his skin which intoxicates you - none of that. I planned on sleepless nights, but never realized why they would be sleepless and how they would affect me. His lonely crying is like a sharp blade, and my sleep just does not measure up. However, after only a few of those, your judgement and determination disappear, and the reason does not rule.
Anyhow, started having contractions on June 29 at 10 pm. They quickly went from from 0 to every 7 minutes. Lost that first night of sleep. Went to the hospital in the morning, 3cm dilated, but without frequent enough contractions to be admitted. Paced in the hospital until they got stronger and closer together. Got admitted at 5cm. Went weathering them out until 10 pm, lost control over breathing and took epidural to get some sleep. Got pitocin. Realized that, in order to begin contracting, I need to move. On my knees, with the help of lower back massage, I witnessed contractions go from 7-8 min. apart to fully dilated and ready to push. At 6:36am, our son was born.
Love to all of you, best luck and thank you, Glow, for being there every step of the way!
