Mom Shaming from My Mom

I feel like I can’t be the only one...

I told my mom today that I wanted to take a 1 day trip to Vegas with my husband and leave my son with either her or my MIL.

My son would be 19 months old when we would go. I’ve recently weaned him off breastfeeding and he practically sleeps through the night.

Sooo she basically told me I shouldn’t go on my vacation and leave my son. She tried to guilt me into not going and gave me examples of other moms in our family that “have never done that.”

It’s been difficult to get some one on one time with my husband and I feel the need to reconnect. I’ve been a SAHM and he works full time - sometimes 10+ hour days. He usually gets home when I’m asleep and sleeps in while I wake up early with the baby. By the time he wakes up he spends time with the baby and gets ready for work.

Sorry for the length of my story, I just needed to vent. It sucks when your mom - the one who’s supposed to get it more than anyone else makes you feel so bad.
