My mom taking the kids for a few days?

I'm currently pregnant and I have 4 step kids and my own daughter. My mom offered to take my daughter for a few days after I have the new baby and my mother in law offered to take the step kids so I can spend some alone time with the new baby and establish our breastfeeding relationship, etc
Should I do it? I just feel like once everyone comes back I'll have a hard time adjusting.. or maybe not?
What do you ladies think?
(My daughter will be 15 months old and my step kids are 8, 7, 6, and 4, dunno if that makes a difference!)

My mother in law has taken our 17 month old quite a few times now that we’ve had our newborn. It’s definitely helpful. I think you’ll be grateful for the time. So I would take them up on that offer, but it’s up to you, or course.

I do get where your coming from my son is 5 and I’m 19 weeks he stays over my mums every Friday night and has done for a while but, and I don’t want you to think I’m being mean just my opinion I think that’s a bad idea getting rid of the kids for more than one night that’s not part of their routine. This is on the assumption you obviously have a hubby/partner living with you but that’s what he’s there for too. Bonding is so important for you and a new baby but it’s just as important for siblings too it would break my heart if my lil boy felt left out due to a new baby look at it from their point of view. I was 11 when my sister was born and honestly I hated her to begin with as I was shifted to my grandparents house in the begging a decision my mum regrets to this day, due to that lack of bonding me and my sister had fast forward 2 years and my brother was born totally different scenario as I stayed in my own home and don’t feel left out. I don’t mean it to sound harsh but the other kids came first and yes they have to get used to sharing their time with you but those first moments are precious and you can never get this back if you miss them. Let the grandparents help with the kids thru the day then hubby picks up te reins when they come home, regarding the step children I am sorry but they are his responsibility my parents split when I was young so I can be this brutally honest they have their Mum and her family to support also don’t forget that.

I let my son be with me at the hospital during birth, and be part of the whole baby process. He was about 14 months. He has been very helpful and a great brother. Today they are like twins. I felt that letting him be with us reduced jealousy and feeling left out.
