Early period?

So I recently got the copper IUD inserted (a week and four days ago). I started getting really bad cramps 3 days ago with some heavy spotting. I’m suppose to start my period any minute now but it isn’t the norm for me to have cramps or bleeding before I actually start. So my question is, does this mean I started my period early or are these just some symptoms from the IDU? Has anyone else had this experience.

I’ve just had my IUD removed. As symptoms were getting unbearable. Heavy bleeding, unbearable cramps. My period would arrive whenever it wanted. Some months I would period for 3 weeks have one or two days off and it would start again! 
Feel so much better now that it’s out! And I’ve just had my first period after the removal, it’s was so light and only a few days!

Mine are always a day or two early now.

Yeah that’s normal with the copper. It can make periods longer, more painful, and heavier but that’s pretty much it side effect wise. Sounds like an early period to me
