DIAPER GENIE WORTH IT??

So I’ve had mixed opinions about getting a diaper genie. Some people tell us it was a lifesaver and some tell us it’s a waste of money (more specifically the refill bags or whatever they’re called are a waste). I was wondering everyone’s thought on the diaper genie were? If you have one, do you regret getting one? Is it worth it? If you have the concept of it but a different brand, same questions apply. Overall is that concept a waste or should we just use a trash can? We don’t have a trash service or anything where we can leave it outside. We live in an apartment so we’d have to take it to the dumpster every time. Also, we don’t have a separate room for our son so he is in our room until we move so we’re trying to figure out what would work best so our room doesn’t reek.
