Would you hire a birth photographer? Why or why not?

Question

I wouldn't want any photos between the legs...just the labor process with my husband and then baby's first moments with us. I'm a FTM though and can't decide if it's worth the investment or not. Will I love looking back on these photos? Will I regret it if I don't get them? Etc. 
If you've had birth photography in the past, I'd love to hear about your experience.

I’m a pretty private person so personally I’m not using one. I think I would honestly be too aware of the photographer and be worried what I looked like instead of being in the moment and sharing the experience with my husband.

You may want to check your hospitals policy. A lot of hospitals don’t allow an outside photographer. 😔

I’m going to make my fiancé take a million pictures XD idc how I look or if my “bits” are seen but I won’t pay someone else an arm and a leg for it

I had my last two recorded and pics taken. i regret not having it done with my first. I will be doing it again for my 4th it was just a special moment for me and I love seeing the photos and videos

I wanted to hire one but couldn’t really justify the cost. My mom got some decent shots and even though I look horrid from pushing for 2.5 hours, I love them.

I would just ask my husband if I wanted someone. He was just hanging out in a chair trying to sleep the entire time lol. Almost missed the birth when he went out for a cigarette. Might just put him up to it this time around so he has to pretend to be involved 😁
I think it's a great idea to hire someone if they are photos you'd like to have! You'll probably regret not having them if you're sure you'll be comfortable with it right now! :D

I love the pictures that my mom took right when I had the baby. I wouldn’t even mind if had some “between the leg” ones. I don’t have any of having my first and it’s so upsetting. I so wish we could have had an actual photographer to capture the whole process of it.

No. I dont want someone taking photos of me during birthing (just my personal preference) and I cant imagine wanting to keep photos where I look sweaty and awful 😹 
My friend had some taken and here's turned out very beautiful, but its just my personal preference not to have one !

My patients have birth photographers all the time. My coworker actually does it on the side and the pics are amazing. I think it’s totally worth it

I had one (gave birth 17 days ago) and I’m so glad I did. I’ll always have those moments to look back on. I didn’t have one with my first and I’m sad I didn’t!
