SO MUCH BLOOD

I started the patch recently and this is my first week patch free (period week) and I have never in my life had such a heavy flow. I’m talking super tampon bleeding through every hour or less. My body has been pretty consistent about my period since it started but this is crazy! I know the hormones from the birth control might affect that but not like this! Is it normal? Please help
