Kyrie’s detailed birth story ♥️
My rainbow baby,
Kyrie Gregory King-Love Born June 9, 2018

6lb 9oz 20.5in born at 7:19am
So on Thursday 6/7 I was 38 weeks 1 day. I had a dr app. at 9:30am & the dr. said I was 2cm dilated and swept my membranes. He said if baby was ready this would successfully put me into labor .. but the internet told me otherwise lol. I was so excited thinking about him coming & had cramping + bleeding the whole day. Ended up taking a 5 hour nap and stayed up until 5am around this time I decided to pump my breast because I heard that could induce labor. Contractions started at around 6am but they were mild and I went to sleep. I kept waking up for the next 5 hours trying to get into a comfortable position because I was having somewhat painful contractions much different from Braxton Hicks. At around 11:30am I finally got up and went to target to buy some last minute things I needed for my hospital bag, I just had a feeling it was going to happen this weekend. The contractions continued but were spread out so far I started to think maybe I was in early labor. I had work at 4:30pm & I’m a server which requires a lot of walking around and carrying trays it was my last day of work before Maternity leave so I decided to go in anyways bc I thought maybe all the walking would help me dilate more. I only worked for about 3 hours before I asked to leave early. Once I was home laying in bed the contractions seemed to have subsided so my boyfriend and I had sex at around 10:30pm. My bf works the night shift and leaves at 11:30pm so my sister came & we got food and watched movies. The contractions had started up again and I timed them for 2 hours while cleaning my room & doing laundry, but they were all over the place sometimes 7 minutes apart other times 20 minutes.
So at 3:30am it had been 20 min since my last contraction and I finally started to drift to sleep. Right as I was falling asleep I felt a pop feeling and a small gush of fluid. I was half asleep & felt like I had to pee & wondered if I peed myself bc it was a small amount all of a sudden I had a really painful contraction that made me get up on all fours bc I couldn’t stay laying down. I got up and felt another small amount of liquid. I peed, brushed my teeth, changed clothes, while still having some painful contractions but also still irregular. I woke up my sister and we drove to the hospital which is about 5min away. The contractions were seriously so painful once we got there but I just breathed through them. I got checked and I was already 6cm the nurse was really surprised and took me to a room as a lot more fluid was coming out of me. They gave me a narcotic while I waited for my epidural which took the edge off, but wow I can’t even imagine doing it all natural I could not take the pain at all! Shortly after around 5:30am, the anesthesiologist arrived and about 45min later I was pain free but feeling a lot of pressure so she checked and I was 9.5cm already! At about 7am I started pushing and he arrived almost 20 min later after two sets of pushing. My labor was relatively quick and easy but I am now putting my goal of having another child right away on hold bc I don’t think I can endure that pain any time soon lol.
Anyways sorry this was long, but after having a miscarriage, the year and a half it took to conceive again, and the scare I had with bleeding up until 10 weeks, I just can’t believe he’s here and he’s real. I know people try for much longer to have a baby with no success, but after a year I really started to wonder if there was something wrong with me and if I would ever be a mother. When I was in high school and people would talk about their goals and what they wanted to become. I would always say I had no idea what I wanted in life other than to have my own family and be a mother. This is truly a dream come true I still can’t even believe it’s happening.
