First time birth story 💕
On June 5th at 4:13am, weighing 8lbs 4oz, we welcomed our little Aveda Zayn into the world
It all began Monday, June 4th at around 6:30pm when out of nowhere I started to get contractions that lasted 1 minute and were 3 minutes apart. As soon as I noticed I had 3 in a row I took out my contractions timer and timed for about an hour and told my boyfriend and our roommate (they instantly got all excited!!) In the midst of timing I went pee and noticed quite a bit of blood on the tp. Turns out it was just my cervix dilating. Since they stayed consistent I called my birth center and the doctor told me to come right in. I get there at about 7:40ish and after 20 minutes of being there I was admitted, and 3 1/2cm dilated! ☺️
This is when it all started feeling real!!
At about 9pm I was 5 cm! The contractions at this point were pretty painful but I was sitting through them well. The nurse in my room was very friendly and we were joking and laughing with my boyfriend the whole time.
At 12 am I got my spinal and epidural, which honestly was NOT as bad as I thought it would be! The numbing needles just felt like getting little shots, and once she inserted the big needle, it was just an odd sensation but wasn’t painful at all.
An hour later they check me and I am 8cm!!! So, my doctor decided to come and break my waters, which I didn’t feel, and the next time he checked me I was 9cm!!
My cervix has a little trouble getting to 10 because one side still had a thick rim which my nurse was massaging and trying to thin out.
She had me do a few little practice pushes to help thin it out, and shortly after I was ready for the real pushing!!!!
Guys, pushing felt so f*ucking good!!!
I only pushed for about 30 minutes through 10 sets of contractions.
After what I thought would take much longer, my little girls head popped out and all we see is a head full of beautiful brown hair 💕
It seriously all happened so fast, I couldn’t believe it when I saw her cute little purple head haha
Doctor had me stop pushing and just let baby come out on her own, and when she did I balled my freaking eyes out 😭 I look up at my boyfriend who was holding my hand and notice he was crying looking at me and the baby.
It was the most beautiful moment I could ever imagine, and I don’t expect to ever feel so much emotion at once again.

As soon as I heard that little cry I was sobbing crying like a baby myself.
My doctor was very impressed with how smooth everything went and he was such a sweetheart. I really wouldn’t change anything about my birth experience.
I didn’t rip (I really thought I would) but I have a small tear near the top of my vagina that burns when I pee but didn’t need stitches
P.s I was 38+5 weeks and had lost my mucus plug exactly a week prior.
Every time I look at this little girl I tear up a little bit, I just can’t believe it’s real 💕
Another p.s I wrote this in a hurry so sorry if it’s sort of all over the place! I will edit later!! Thank you so much for reading 😊
