So I have been dating my bf since high school. I decided to go to college in a different state 10 + hours away. He decided to stay local and go to college an hour away (but still lived near the school no with his parents. My family then moved to the state where I go to college. My bf visits me almost every month on the weekend and in the summer stays down for a week. I go up about every 3 months since it’s harder for me to find the time between school and work to fly up. I know this annoys my bf but where he lives there’s not much to do and I live in am very popular city so there always something to do. The other day as he was moving out of his apartment for the summer I said after he moves back in for the fall he will then be moving with me next June. We have been dating for 4 years and he has said he wants to move by me and will apply for jobs here. Like I previously said it’s a popular city and theres a lot of jobs that are exactly what he’s looking for and also theirs a graduate school program that’s the top in the country (and fully online so he can still work). He then goes my moms gonna be mad about that and all. I was so shocked since we are in our 20’s like I get they will be upset that he’s moving but it’s an 2 hour flight. Also shouldn’t they be happy that he would have graduated and working a good job?? I’m so shocked/hurt he said that since I definitely feel his parents must have said something to him about moving near me. Anyone have any advice. I know it’s gonna be an adjustment being together permanently but I feel like him visiting for 1 week in the summer has helped me and him adjust. I just feel if I know his parents are against this it’s gonna be so hard.
