is this going overboard?

we live with 2 other people who don't respect anything we say with our kids and when we have visitors they don't respect what we say either. everyone does what they want with them and it just makes things harder for me . I have tried communicating everything  plenty of times but nobody listens. so I made this. is this too much? we will be moving out this fall we live with family temporarily for recent financial issues. btw Christoph is 16 months old and Reilly is 1 month.

Just seems unnecessary. If they don’t listen, I’m not sure what good this will do. Just another thing for them to ignore.

If you have already tried communicating it with them and they dont listen they will only be annoyed when you put in writing. Sit down and talk to them like an adult and explain why it is important to have everyone on board with the same rules and expectations as to not cause confusion for the kids. When one person undermines a parents rules then the parent or person setting the rule loses credibility and authority. It is difficult to live with family but TALK to them. Dont direct them with a piece of paper.

It’s your child. They must respect whatever you want, especially if it’s for your child’s safety. Put the rules in bold letters!!!

It’s great to get your thoughts clear with writing! If they haven’t listened they probably won’t care and if they’re letting you live with them they might be offended. 
It might go better if you toss this one and then sit down with them at a table and write it out together, explaining it as you go. Break it down into categories, sleep, feeding, potty training, social behavior etc. maybe then they can see it as a guide rather than an ultimatum. It’s hard to make demands when they just expect you to be grateful for their help, I know.
Chances are though if they have had kids or have kids and feel they did fine, they’re just going to do it their way. It’s frustrating and I wish you the best in finding your own place.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻yes!! I have rules like this for my kids since my s/o’s family have no respect and do not listen I set out rules and if they do not follow they don’t get to see the kids easy as that. We have a hard time with our 3 year old since he has such bad ocd and adhd so we try to keep his schedule easy for him to follow
