Yeah no chance in hell am I drinking that crap. I won't do it with jelly beans either, not much better with the sugar and food dyes. I'll either do it with food - bananas probably, since they are glucose and not fructose. Or I will just do finger price after normal meals. If my midwife doesn't like either of those options, then I just won't consent to the testing. You do not have to do any test or treatment you don't want to.

I just sucked it up and got over it. I want the healthiest pregnancy possible, sometimes that means doing things I don't want to. Oh well. That's the mom life.

So I just took mine 3 weeks ago & it was no where near as horrible as that drink lol! I had to eat only protein rich meals for breakfast (eggs, a slice of bacon & avocado), snack (cheese stick, protein bar) and lunch (baked chicken & a baby greens salad) and then at a specific time (4:15 for me) I ate 50 grams of carbs, so one Clif Bar granola bar, then an hour later (5:15) they drew my blood, easy peasy. Plus I didn't feel like I was eating empty calories by drinking something super sugary, or eating candy! I know each midwife is different, but I'm so glad they take into account nutrition for the test, rather than just a rush of sugar!

Yeah, I won't do it... I did with my first and fainted...failed, did the three hour, fainted...it was awful. I failed, but turned out to be just too healthy to tolerate it and the diabetic diet they put me on made me dangerously hypoglycemic. I went back to normal and this time, I kept the metre I was prescribed and test every so often on my own. Way better. Plus I now have a midwife instead so I am not even offered it!

My first OB tried to get me to drink that crap. I asked about alternatives and she insisted there were none. I was moving anyway, so I told her no I'd find another way and I did. I chose a midwife and she just had me do blood draws weekly for a month.

Is there a test that the doctor ask you to drink orange juice?? Which test and for what??

My midwife let me drink organic grape juice. When I went to the health department they made me do the damn drink, it’s so gross.
