What to eat/drink

Question

My glucose test is coming up and i'm just wondering if I should eat or not before I go to my appointment? And if I eat, what should I eat? And how soon did you find out if you passed or not?

My test is in a week and my doc told me to eat breakfast the morning of the test and to eat as I normally would up to the test.  Doc said that drastically changing your diet beforehand in an attempt to "fudge" the results could cause you to fail.

If you do NOT pass the 1 hour screening, and have to take the 3 hour tolerance test, that one is the one that you should not eat for :)

Mine is at 8 am and dr told me no food or drink after midnight the night before...it is interesting how doctors all.have different ways of doing things...

Mine told me to eat a breakfast. Just not sugary, otherwise it could throw off your results and cause you to fail, or you'll likely experience nausea/vomiting/headaches. I JUST had mine yesterday, I ate oatmeal around 11, took the test at 12, and had blood drawn at 1 :)

My test was at 330 in the afternoon, so I had to eat! I had my regular egg sandwich in the morning, and ate boiled eggs for a snack and chicken nuggets with carrots and cucumbers for lunch. I couldn't think of anything else high protein and low carb. I passed and found out the next morning. Take something to eat after they draw! I got a headache from not eating for a few hours with so much sugar in my body. Baby was going to crazy though!

My doctor told me to eat and to just avoid anything sweet the morning of. Luckily my appointment is next Wednesday at 9am so I can get it over with and pray I pass. He also said that he doesn't require fasting the day of for any of his patients since we're pregnant.

I chose to have a soda becuase i wanted caffine.

Still passed, but i have low blood sugar so thats not shocking.
