Has anyone ever successfully saved their marriage after cheating?

Hi,

I’ve recently found out that my husband cheated on me, and need to decide what I want to do.

I am so torn, as I have known for a while that he isn’t himself mentally, and he isn’t getting help for it, and the person he has been talking to that he has been seeing is a friend from years ago, who lives in another country, and was only here for a couple of years. He only met up with her during her last few months in this country, as he had been avoiding it before, but after he had a breakdown at work he met her as a friend, and things escalated.

He doesn’t really have a social circle, and from what he is saying when they speak it is just about general things to take his mind off things when he is stressed.

I know some people think that if someone cheats they will always do it again, but I was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation and been able to work through it?
