A condition that affects a woman's ability to engage in vaginal penetration, including sexual intercourse, manual penetration, insertion of tampons or menstrual cups, and the penetration involved in gynecological examinations (pap tests). This is because the muscles of the vaginal floor spasm/tighten causing painful sex. This is why some women have a hard time with tampons, pap smears, and penetration.

I feel so lonely and strange to have this condition. It is curable but takes a lot of effort and practice. So how can we ever have spontaneous sex?? How can you get through something like this? I found out last night and I just felt SO ashamed and wounded. I can't really face my husband right now because of the shame.

Am I alone?? Is there anyone else out there with this condition...?
