Depo shot ?

So I’m leaning towards the depo shot.
This is my first time ever using birth control. 
How was your experience with it ? What symptoms did you get? Did you gain or lose weight ? 
I hope I don’t lose weight because I’m already under weight. 
And also did it affect your menstrual cycle ?

Was on it for 6 years, no period, no babies, gained 18 lbs in 6 years.  Increased migraines was a negative.  Took 6 months to get pregnant after I stopped taking it.

I loved it! No period. No other symptoms other than I would get moody around f the time I needed a shot. For some people it makes them very irritable. Try it and see if you like it. I liked not having to remember to take a pill at the same time every day.

I don’t know anybody personally that hasn’t gained weight on that god awful shot. 
Aside from getting fat it also made me really bitchy, my acne was out of control, and after being on it for 6 months I started spotting, not getting periods just randomly spotting here and there every damn day. Fuck depo!!

depo is horrible for your body,you need to take calcium daily and have your bone density checked regularly.  depo is not to be used for longer then 2 years. long term effect is osteoporosis.   depo causes weight gain (50-100lbs),hair lose, prolong bleeding and bad mood swings

I've experienced  depo Provera after having my 2nd child. My experience was miserable I gained 40lbs, I bled everyday of the month and doctors advised it was normal, my sex drive went all the way down (didn't have to urge to do anything) my appetite decreased.  My period went from 7 days to 2-3 days after getting the depo. Lastly, I waited 6 years to conceive and when I  did it ended in miscarriage. Idk if depo had anything to do with it, but I would do my research if I were u. Goodluck

I gained 50 pounds, and my periods lasted 2 weeks. I can't speak on how long it actually took me to concieve because I had been off it for a year before we started trying, but I don't reccomend it at all.

OMG I did it for 3 months and gained 20 pounds! I have a healthy/active lifestyle so I couldn’t figure out where the weight was coming from. When I realized it was the shot I quit immediately and worked my a** off to lose the weight. It took SIX MONTHS to get back to my start weight! Never again...
