When the ovulation cramping starts.... Does it mean you've just ovulated? Or that your going to very soon?

I'm trying to learn the meaning of the signs and I wanted to know if I should start having more sex when I feel the cramping or does it mean the timers up and any sex from that point on wouldn't make a difference for TTC.
