California to Texas?

Question

Hey! so I’m a senior in high school and I’m going to be applying to colleges in Texas. I’m not too fond of California, but Texas really interests me it seems like a great fit for me. I’m a little more conservative and I genuinely like the southern hospitality feel of Texas (but it’s not too strong). Seems like a great place to meet a great guy and start a family when I’m older. Does anyone have any experiences with Texas? If so please share :)

I have lived in Texas all my life, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The people down here are nice and caring. It's more of a traditional state. It's cheap in alot of areas. I just love being in Texas.

I live in CA. It’s expensive af here (living wise) if your not in a dorm. Choose Texas! If I could go to college in a different state, I’d totally take it! Texas is a bit cheaper to live in besides here in Cali. There’s a lot of good colleges, sexy boys, and interesting lifestyles, cultures, and especially people in Cali, but I’d chose Texas any day. I also like the Southern feel.

Ive been in Texas all of my life. I’m from San Antonio, it’s conservative and a nice family place, and has good colleges. I live in Austin and it’s the total opposite, crowded, expensive (although probably not to a Californian), young people, and the most liberal city in Texas. I love it though! Houston is huge metropolitan, very bad traffic, it’s better to live in the suburbs of Houston. El Paso, don’t go there and get stuck there. There is absolutely nothing worth staying for over there. The only reason I even go there is family. Lubbock, don’t get stuck there either...so boring. Dallas/Forth-worth are cool from what my husband tells me. He’s from there.

Born and raised in Texas! I loveeeee texas!! The heat can get unbearable though. The people are generally sweet. If you have certain colleges you’re applying to and want to know about the area I can tell you a bit.

My best friend lived in Texas before her family moved to NC. I've met some of their friends who have come to visit, and they're all super nice! I've never been myself, and it's probably like everywhere else where some people are super shitty but some are incredibly great. Just try to surround yourself with good people 🙂

for the most part, people are pretty nice in college as we’re all willing to help each other, but i’m not too sure if that’s a texas thing or just a college thing. living cost would most likely be cheaper, as far as tuition keep in my mind you’ll be paying out of state tuition which is more expensive than in state.
