Getting pregnant

My boyfriend and I have a long term serious relationship going on and we’ve talked about having a baby and I really want to and he claims he does but tells me he wants me to stay on my birth control and says it’s still possible. We both make enough to support a baby and have enough room (2 spare bed rooms) in our house. I just don’t know how to go deeper into the conversation because all he says is if it happens great but if it doesn’t ok. He just won’t tell me exactly how he feels about it
