How many weeks till you felt like you and baby were on the same page?

My daughter is 9 days old and bf. My son never latched so I pumped and bottle fed. My daughter latches, but 90% of the time she has a very shallow latch, she’s eating plenty and gaining weight, so I’m trying to be patient and practice latching and hoping it’ll click one day and she’ll latch better and it won’t hurt so much. 
How long did it take for your LO to get the hang of latching without assistance??

About 6 weeks for us! And just now at 3 months we are to the point where it feels effortless to nurse anytime/anywhere! Hang in there, Mama!

I had to hold my breast like a sandwich so she latched good for about 6-8 weeks I think.

Have you had her checked for a tongue?

I went to lactation to get my son right he was having issues and nipple shield help train him also

I felt better as time went in, but I’d say about a month until we really got a good groove. We’re still using a nipple shield unfortunately, but other than that we’re good. Ditto to the tie question..I know that can cause a shallow latch.

It took me about 6 to 8 weeks to get things going.
