Rear-Facing car seats?

Question

I know they say you should keep your child rear facing in their car seat until “at least” two. My daughter is nearly two and still rear facing, she’s hit the weight and height that they recommend (36in tall and 30-35lbs) but I’m wondering how much longer I’m wanting to keep her that way. 
How long did you keep your child rear facing? When did you finally turn them around?

mines almost 3 still rear facing will be till 4 or 5 when his bones are actually developed enough to handle a forward facing crash

Check out Car Seats for the Littles on Facebook or their website csftl.org. There are lots of reasons to keep your baby rf until they max out the limits on their seat. Most convertible seats rf to 40 lbs. As for their legs getting cramped-there’s no need to forward face just for leg room.

In California the weight requirement is 40 pounds and 40" tall or after 2 years of age. So I can't. But I'm keeping her that way for as long as possible. Unfortunately just a month ago my friends family member was involved in a head on collision and him and his wife passed. Their almost 2 year old was critically injured but managed to survive due to the rear car seat. So to me the benefits of the rear facing outweigh squished feet.

My daughter is 2.5 and will be rear facing until she's at least 3. She is on the smaller side for her age, so she still has plenty of leg room anyway.

Isn’t is forward facing until two OR until the height/weight requirements? I am not positive, but I believe that is the case.

We turned our little one around the day she turned 2. She met the height and weight requirements to be forward facing before she turned 2. It’s so much easier having her forward facing. It’s hard to see everything she’s doing when facing backwards, even with a mirror. It’s also so much easier to feed her and help her with whatever when forward facing.

See what is legal in your state. Here, the child has to he two no matter the size. My LO will be rear facing for as long as possible. My nephew is now forward facing and his mom has had him that way for at least a couple of months and he won’t be 2 until July 1st. This kid is a peanut and I’m no way ready even when he does turn 2.
