Is it weird to buy a used breast pump?

breast pump?" /> Insurance covered breast pumps aside, is it weird to buy a used one? I'm looking for another one for when I go back to work. I would get all new replaceable parts so it's just the actual pump that would be used. Thanks!

I think as long as you would just be getting the machine used and would be buying all new tubing and accessories that you milk will come in contact with it fine. The ones they let you use in the hospital have been used by others before you as well as the ones you rent from pharmacies they just provide new tubing and accessories. I would not get a used manual breast pump though. Because it's been in contact with another persons milk.

I borrowed a hospital grade medala pump from a friend.  I bought everything new just used the actual pump.
