Do you idolize or view your parents as your hero or role model?

I remember back as kid when we would all have to do papers on who we viewed as our hero. I felt like many children chose either their mother or father or even a grandparent for this. I’ve seen a lot of people mention how their mother or father was their hero, their role model, someone they looked up to, someone they idolized.

Although I love my parents and think they were good parents, I never idolized them in this way. In fact I don’t think I ever felt like that about anyone. My partner also said the same about his parents, he said they weren’t bad parents, I just don’t feel they are they great or people that I ever looked up to. How do you feel about your parents?
