Cramping: period or pregnancy?

How do you tell the difference between period cramps and signs of implantation or early pregnancy?

My period cramps are usually in my back and they feel like deep in my body and also in my pelvic area and are usually pretty painful.

The cramps I’m currently experiencing are more so just annoying. Sometimes it feels like lightening(not painful though) strikes in the middle pelvic area and in the sides it’s more like “pinching” cramps that I notice but arent painful. Has anyone experienced this?
