You didn't ask for parenting advice but I'm giving it out anyways
I don't have any kids but I have some advice for all you new parents.
DO NOT CRITICIZE YOUR KIDS!!
Encourage encourage encourage.
Trust me on this.
My mom's parenting style was giving "constructive" criticism on everything I did and it did nothing but strip me of all my confidence. This is what criticizing your kids does. The constant criticism will ingrain in them the idea that they will never be good enough. Society already does that enough.
As parents, you should be their safe haven from that. Just encourage and support them instead, please.
It doesn't mean you need to make them think that they're entitled to anything. It doesn't mean creating a false sense of superiority in them. It just means making them think that they ARE good enough and that they SHOULD put themselves out there and try their hardest. Will they fail? Sometimes, yes. But then you just encourage them to try again and never let them think that they're less than worthy.
Alright, that's all.
