Stripped/sweep membrane?

I am 37w3d and I had my weekly check up today, my doctor told me my cervix is extremely thin and I am almost 2 cm dilated so he stripped/sweep my membrane. Has anyone had this done before and did it help them go into labor? Or what was your experience?

I had my membranes stripped at 40w1d, went home, had sex and went into labor that night. I was a little over a cm dilated when my doctor did it.

I had it done at 38weeks. Then after my app I walked a mile. I was 1 cm. It didn’t help me at all. I ended up gave a c section bc I wasn’t dilating. 
That’s just my experience. ☺️

I'm kinda surprised they did it that early but maybe dinner your cervix is so thin, that's why. I had mine stripped at 40w1d and started contractions that night, had my son the next evening. Good luck, mama!!

I was already having contractions, had routine dr. Apt. She stripped my membrane and I delivered 1:30am next morning... I don’t know if it really did much though
