Issues

Can someone help me? I have no trouble putting in tampons but when I take them out, it hurts. I have to move this piece of skin to the side in order to do so. I checked and there is this string of skin that is attached to the 2 ends of my vagina(up and down)? A couple days ago when I had sex with my boyfriend (for the first time),hurt so bad and I knew that this abnormality was the cause of it. Does anyone know what this is?
