Tampons after elective section

I’m now 7 days pp after an elective section. My bleeding has been light and has now mostly tapered off to a very light yellow fluid so I guess I’m close to the end. Does anyone know if I am safe to use tampons? I hate pads so much and never usually use them and they are causing me so much discomfort. Not to mention that our summers are about 30 degree heat so feeling like I’m wearing an adult nappy whilst I’m hot and sweating all the time is really disgusting. I never had any contractions so I can’t see how tampons would make any difference? Anyone know?
