weaning?

I need tips, help to wean my 2 year old daughter. Please share how you all weaned your toddlers.

I weaned at 19 months bc I am pregnant again & it just hurt too much. I took away comfort nursing first, then day nursing sessions (one every few days). Then came the nap session & finally before bed (1 week apart). I replaced each sleep routine with something new & special (a special book & song at naptime & a song, sip of water & a little cuddle time before bed) & for the few weeks after cutting out sleep nursing, I has to wear higher necked shirts & I couldn't let her see my boobs for about 2 months or she'd ask to nurse. All in all, it took me about 3-4 weeks but I really wanted to be gentle about it. Oh, & expect there to be tears...deep breaths help but it still hurt my heart. 
My bits of advice: 
-explain what's happening, they understand more than we think. 
-once you cut a nursing session out, stick to it...if you cave, it can make it much harder.

I started cutting back feedings to where we only nursed before she went to bed, then I went on vacation for 4 days and left her with her dad! She didn’t ask for it until I was home about a week and I just told her all gone and she was okay with that and hasn’t asked since. {She was 22 months when we weaned}

I just cut back on feedings until I did one every other day, then she didn't even ask for it on the day she could have it so I didn't offer and the next time she asked I just said it's all gone, no more. She was a week shy of 2

😂 Oh man, I got my 3 year old off breastfeeding by applying a little bit of Jalapeño 🌶 on my nipples 😄 it worked 🙌 she stopped breastfeeding because it was spicy 😁

I know this is an old post but just curious how it went? I’ve thought about trying to wean our 17 month old a couple times but she just gets clingier and I give in..
