Question: Can you imagine if jealousy didn't exist? How would it be?

If jealousy didn't exist would we all be happier or worse? What are the consequences?

Definitely happier. There is nothing to be gained through jealousy.

I’ve always strived to eliminate jealousy through my life, and I did that by first working on my own insecurities. Now, I do occasionally get jealous of the talents/skills of others, but I feel like I’m not really jealous of anyone’s body/face/belongings anymore. I did it by:
1. Stopped wearing makeup, learned to just be satisfied & grateful with my natural face instead of continually allowing the beauty industry to keep telling me that I “needed” this and that to look good —> in turn stopped comparing the looks of others to myself
2. Stopped caring about designer items unless I actually liked them for the item, not the name —> in turn stopped being jealous of what others had that I didn’t 
3. Stopped bitching over minor things or playing the “they have it so much easier game” —> in turn learned to work harder for myself and not assume the situations of others
4. Went braless because as a teen I wanted a larger chest like many of my friends, so I dared myself to bare my smaller chest like it was without buying “add 2 cups push up bras” any longer —> stopped being jealous of my friends’ chests & realized that I was very lucky to be able to go braless as bras were expensive and constricting, and no back pain
5. Stopped taking all of these ridiculous “hair growth” vitamins sponsored by hair-extension wearing Instagrammers —> learned to embrace natural hair and be happy that I am blessed to have healthy hair period. 
6. Sucked it up and wore my hearing aid —> stopped pondering over “woe is me I’m deaf”
7. I was jealous of biological men for a long ass time because they didn’t even allow gender identity to play a role in becoming a state trooper bc of societal standards, then I said you know what? I’M the one who’s ACTIVELY choosing to allow gender & societal standards to play a role in it. The actual troopers haven’t even mentioned my female aspects to me, nor have the recruiters, nor have the female troopers, etc. —> realized that I was the one getting in my head and I needed to stop taking it out on the men around me who didn’t give a fuck about my sex or gender in the slightest. 
Basically, I just kept reminding myself that instead of being jealous of others I needed to appreciate what I had. At least I have healthy hair, at least I lead a very free life, at least I’m not homeless, at least I lead healthy relationships in my life, at least I feel as though I even have the choice to choose to be a state trooper as a biological female, etc. Just focused on myself and said here’s some things we need to work on and I worked on them and I’m still working on them and it feels pretty good man.  
So yeah if jealousy didn’t exist I think we’d all be better off. However, I do think jealousy can lead us to strive for better things. Sometimes a little competitive jealousy is good.

I think jealousy has its place to be honest. Some people strive to better themselves due to jealousy. It's not the most functional motivator to be honest but if they weren't jealous, they may not try do better. I also think that it helps raise alarm bells in relationships. Jealously may lead to other negative factors in a relationship that may not be obvious until it's too late. I don't feel like I'm explaining very well what I'm thinking in my head but hopefully people will get the gist of it.

Jealousy is what I call one of the “lower” emotions. It’s something that can teach you about yourself, if you learn how to acknowledge it and understand why it’s happening. If you can do that, you can potentially eliminate it within yourself. 
It’s needed in that manner. It’s a self reflection tool that can be used. Without it, you are less likely to “know thyself” in a wholistic manner.

I would think it would be better but it could also mess with motivation I suppose. If I had to think of negative consequences.

Definitely happier. Comparison is the thief of joy. other things can motivate aside from jealousy. the world needs a lot more gratitude for what we have rather than so much focus on what we don't have.
