Switching BC

so I started the depo shot back in April and I’m suppose to be getting another shot in 2 days. I’m very unhappy with it because I have been bleeding for a month straight now and I want it gone. i have heard great stories about switching to the pill and I have a question. If I switch from the depo to the pills that same day, will be period end sooner or could it possibly end that same day ?
