Baby shower confusion

I’m due near the end of August with my first child, but didn’t really expect a shower since my family isn’t very large and my husbands family lives 1000 miles away. My husbands sister was kind enough to offer throwing a shower for me and suggested a send by mail shower since we live so far apart. The invites were sent out earlier than I had anticipated (end of June) and there were 25 or so people invited a lot of them being my husbands family since it is rather large. I only registered on amazon since originally I didn’t think a shower of any kind would be happening. So far we have received gifts from a dear friend of my husbands and his sister, but that’s it. I know it’s only been a couple weeks, but I’m getting antsy to get things completed for our child’s arrival. I guess my question is since it’s not an actual shower nor is their a deadline (aside from the due date) how long should I wait to purchase the items myself ?- we have already bought the more expensive essentials so there’s not really any urgency to receive the remaining items. I’m certain I’m just being impatient about it and understand this last week was taken as a holiday for a lot of people, but I truly am confused in how long to wait before becoming disappointed and just buying the rest of the items?
